Take the challenge: Define the Essence of ‘Beautiful’ — 4 Comments

  1. I think everyone has something that shines on them. But, when someone has inner joy they just shine. I never understand when the most beautiful person in the world is announced every year by a large magazine I never see their beauty. But when I am at church there are so many beautiful people So what you said looks to be true that Christ inside makes beauty outside

  2. Oh, I love this post, Patty! Here are a few thoughts that came to mind…

    – Hands. Hands are beautiful. Musicians’ hands that coax notes out of a guitar, or stroke a piano’s keys, or pound out rhythm on a hand drum. Manly hands, roughened by hard work. Grandma’s hands that cook up gifts of love. Pudgy toddler hands learning to explore their world.

    – Light. As a photographer, I notice the way lights plays in the clouds, turns buildings to gold, and creating shadows. Black and white pictures show off the intricacies of light.

    – The moments in life that make you cry from deep joy. An adopted child finally in his mommy’s arms. The ending to a favorite story with characters you love. Laughing until you can’t breathe with friends. Hard-earned victories on the field, in a goal achieved, in the prayer room.
